Home theater speakers are voiced for surround effects and low-end impact, which actually suppresses the vocal midrange. Karaoke speakers need the opposite — forward mids, controlled dispersion, and enough headroom that the mics don't feed back the moment you turn up. 346-227-4199What to Sort Out Before Choosing Speakers
Size to the room, not to the spec sheet
A typical 150–250 sq ft living room or media room is well served by 10" speakers. Go to 12" only for 250–600 sq ft spaces, high ceilings, or open plans that flow into a dining area. Oversized speakers in a small room excite low-frequency room modes and make vocals sound muddy.
Powered or passive decides whether you need an amp
Powered speakers (like the QSC K12.2) have amplification built in — plug in and go. Passive speakers (HC10 / HC12 / JBL PRX412M) need an amplifier, but that amplifier also brings reverb, feedback suppression, and wireless mic reception, which makes the whole system easier to tune. That's how most of our packages are built.
Midrange and feedback headroom matter more than watts
Rated power tells you how loud it gets, not how good it sounds to sing on. What actually matters in karaoke is the 1–4kHz vocal band and whether the system stays stable as you push mic gain. Neither shows up on a spec sheet — you have to hear it, which is why we recommend an in-store audition.
Placement rescues more sound than upgrades do
Too close to a corner and the bass booms; aimed straight at the couch and vocals get harsh; mounted below ear height and everything sounds dull. During installation we adjust placement and angle to your actual room — usually a bigger improvement than moving up a model.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I just use my home theater speakers for karaoke?
They'll make sound, but they usually don't sing well. Home theater voicing pulls down the vocal midrange to emphasize surround effects, so your voice gets buried under the backing track — and their limited feedback headroom means the mics squeal as soon as you turn up. Fine to start with, but a dedicated pair is worth it.
Are speakers sold each or per pair?
Karaoke speakers are used in pairs, and every listing states whether the price is per pair or each. Accessories like stands and cable are priced individually.
Can I hear them before deciding?
Yes, and we recommend it. Our Houston Chinatown showroom has the BF-10 and BF-12 set up — sing the same song on both and the difference is immediately obvious. If you're in Austin or Dallas and can't make the trip, we'll walk you through them over WeChat video.
